I’m the heart behind Black Swan Anglers, a brand built from a love of the water, meaningful connection, and doing things with intention. What began as time spent fishing for clarity grew into a space where women can feel confident, supported, and equipped, on and off the water. Every piece you see here is chosen with care, experience, and a deep respect for the outdoors.

If you call or visit one of our classes with Black Swan Anglers, chances are high you’ll meet MeChelle Duffy-Pope the business owner. She works hard to provide custom gear for fly fishing. She designs and creates each piece by hand. She has collaborated with other companies to offer special unique handmade fly gear. When she is not creating, she is conducting classes for women throughout the state of Texas and many other locations. Typically, you can find her in the outdoors on various adventures from fishing, hunting, and mountaineering to white watering. Her favorite pastime, however, is the constant fluid motion of fly fishing, laying lines in backwaters like ink to paper, snagging lips.

A passionate conservationist, who will never pass up an opportunity to do conservation work with local state, and national societies. MeChelle, is certified in both basic fishing and fly-fishing instruction, on both the state and international level. She also holds a certification in Wildlife and Forestry Conservation. She has been an outdoors guide for 27 years and a fly guide for 15. She is a member of International Fly Fishers and many other organizations. She developed a non-profit for mental health awareness called Casting for Clarity, with the healing aspects of fly fishing. She is passionate about her work with Patriot Anglers as the Director of Female Services, it is a 501c3 charity helping veterans, and first responders through the healing power of fly fishing founded by Lew Duckwall. When she is not at a BSA outing she is volunteering her time and resources to this charity. Come and join her on adventures!
